The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has now released the notification form for the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS), which simply requires heat network suppliers to provide details of the heat networks they operate.
This information applies to ALL heat network suppliers, whether or not they have taken advantage of the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS).

What is the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS)?
The Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS) has been announced by the UK government to ensure any support packages announced from the Energy Prices Act 2022 are passed through to end user on commercial networks, which also includes heat networks consumers.
What do heat network suppliers need to do?
As mentioned above, all heat networks suppliers will need to provide details of the heat networks they operate.
Heat network suppliers are required to provide this notification irrelevant of whether they have received the support of the EBRS scheme. This allows any complaints to the Energy Ombudsman from domestic and micro business consumers to be dealt with effectively.
Heat network suppliers must complete the notification by 6th January 2023. The penalty for non-submission is civil sanctions and a financial penalty of up to £5,000.
This notification is in addition to registering heat networks, under the Heat Networks (Metering and Billing) Regulations.
