Our data collection solutions allow your meters to be read remotely on the frequency needed for your application. We support applications from billing purposes to energy efficiency monitoring and government subsidy claims.
We design our solutions to be open-protocol, meaning you’re not locked to Sycous, or anyone else to access your data – it’s your data, you own it, and you control it.
Data collection can also be achieved through our PAYG solutions, where meters are connected to a PAYG unit for additional functionality such as debt-risk reduction and insights.

How Does It Work?
The most common method for accessing meter data that we provide, and support is through OMS MBus.
OMS MBus is an open-protocol wired or wireless solution allowing you to select the data collection and AMR infrastructure that most suits your application. The heart of this solution is the central data collector, where cables or wireless signals terminate. This data collector can be 4G, GSM or TCP/IP (broadband) connected, allowing data to be remotely accessed through applications such as our Mabdeck software, or another 3rd party application.
MBus and Wireless MBus is ideal for use on heat networks and private utility networks as it is simple to install and robust in operation. This is also ideal where metering locations need to be localised such as on a heat network, in a single building or area, allowing meters to be connected together, or where wireless signals are possible.
If you need an alternative solution, covering a wider geographical area, with lower density properties, or where greater signal penetration is required, then an IoT solution may be ideal. We support IoT solutions such a LoRaWAN, NB-IoT. Our IoT solutions can interface with your existing gateways and network servers, or be stand-alone. We supply and support a range of gateways, have existing network server capabilities and we’ve definitely got the application server sorted allowing data to be made available to our Mabdeck software or another 3rd party application.
