Sycous are pleased to announce we have recently achieved multiple accredited ISO certifications in a combined effort as we believe each of our certifications have interlinked processes to achieve success. During this certification process, it was crucial we looked across our organisation to target ways we could implement value in various areas for our clients, and continuously strive for improvement.
ISO 9001 showcases our commitment to delivering products and services that meet our customers’ requirements consistently. By working to quality management systems, the Sycous team can ensure efficient processes and continuous improvement leading to customer satisfaction. During this certification journey, we have effectively enhanced our internal processes through:
- Setting our Business Continuity Plan, outlining strategies and procedures for maintaining essential functions during emergencies, such as natural disasters, technological failures or other unforeseen events.
- Providing routine robust training resources, our team follow set training through employee on-boarding and throughout their career to suit role type and company policies.
- Attributing our employee performance and contribution reviews and targets to business performance metrics.
ISO 45001 recognises our approach to identifying, managing and mitigating occupational health and safety risks. By working to health & safety management systems, the Sycous team can create a safe working environment for our employees and communities we work in. During this certification journey, we have effectively enhanced our internal processes through:
- Our Health, Wellbeing and Compliance Lead Amey Beddows, taking a proactive approach to incident reporting, health and safety and risk management.
- Independent auditing of our health and safety systems by Rhino Safety, our external health and safety support provider.
- Developing our RAM’s within our MYCompliance software, ensuring availability across our team and rapid updating to changing requirements.
ISO 14001 supports our vision for a future where heat networks are both sustainable and the norm. By working to environmental management systems, the Sycous team can operate whilst considering their footprint and contribution to a greener future. During this certification journey, we have effectively enhanced our internal processes through:
- Implementing a cardboard payment card process in replacement of plastic payment cards. Successfully delivering a carbon saving of 97% per payment card for our largest growing service.
- Increasing our warehouse capacity, to enable larger quantities of products to be purchased, enabling the viability of sea travel to reduce the carbon intensity of our deliveries.
- Setting our Carbon Reduction Plan, to guide us towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.
ISO 27001 reflects our commitment to protecting the confidentiality of our customer data, mitigates cyber risks and verifies trust with our clients. By working to information security management systems, the Sycous team can ensure our billing software Mabdeck, and internal systems, protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of customer information. During this certification journey, we have effectively enhanced our internal processes through:
- Processing and storing all Mabdeck data in an enterprise grade, highly secure, data centres to provide reassurance for the protection of all data.
- Our Data Protection Officer Joseph Collier, responsibility for the operational implementation of all elements of our Data Protection Policy.
- Scanning our office IT systems weekly through AppCheck to ensure good security and change notification emails and alerts are configured for any critical system.
Our achievement of multiple ISO certifications alongside our current B Corp certification and FCA approval, shows our continued commitment to excellence across our business operations, ahead of further regulation requirements coming into effect from Ofgem.
This certification is only the start of our journey to deliver high standards to our customers and employees as we look to set ambitious goals for the future.
